Mason has experience as a lead designer of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems across commercial, institutional, and federal government facilities. His design background includes chilled-water and heating-water systems, dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS), and building-wide humidification strategies. Mason also has a strong understanding of the construction process, with hands-on experience responding to RFIs, issuing ESIs, performing submittal reviews, and conducting on-site inspections.
In addition to design work, Mason performs forensic analyses of HVAC and plumbing system failures. His systematic approach of evaluating system configurations, operating characteristics, installation practices, and maintenance histories helps identify root causes of failures and develop practical remedies for mechanical system malfunctions. Mason also assists insurance clients and contractors in understanding the complexities of the construction process and how communication breakdowns can contribute to improper installation and system failures.
